The Challenge
Safeguard Formwork faced a significant challenge as they began renting or hiring formwork to businesses. They needed a robust solution to ensure the chain of custody for hired goods was fully documented, reducing liability risks in the event of onsite issues. Proper compliance recording was essential to verify that goods left the warehouse in good working condition, protecting them in case of disputes while maintaining safety and operational records.
The Solution
We implemented an iPad-based compliance solution that addressed all of Safeguard Formwork's logistical challenges:
- Warehouse staff could document hired goods leaving the facility.
- Four photos of the goods were captured to clearly show their condition.
- Truck weight, registration details, and driver information were recorded.
- Drivers were required to sign off on a detailed Terms and Conditions agreement digitally.
- The system auto-blocked non-compliant truck departures if weight limits or other safety conditions were not met.
- Digital delivery dockets were generated and shared with end customers, providing detailed documentation of product condition, photos, and custody transfers.
The solution ensured a completely compliant and transparent process from the moment goods left the warehouse to their final delivery.
The Results
The compliance solution delivered significant safety and risk management improvements for Safeguard Formwork. By thoroughly documenting custody and condition of goods, the system eliminated liability risks once goods left the warehouse. Customers received detailed delivery dockets ensuring transparency and accountability. While the primary impact was risk mitigation rather than efficiency, Safeguard Formwork achieved complete de-risking of their logistical chain.
